Pittsburgh Steelers (+10) @ Baltimore Ravens (-10) Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 4:25 p.m. ET

Back in Week 10, the Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a major blow with the loss of starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to multiple injuries. The Steelers were able to pull out the win over the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime that week, but Roethlisberger was in significant pain. As a result of injuries to his ribs and shoulder on his throwing arm, Roethlisberger was ruled out the following week against the Baltimore Ravens and the week after against the Cleveland Browns. Without Roethlisberger under center, the Steelers lost both games and have begun to see their playoff hopes slip away. Coming into Week 13, Pittsburgh will face Baltimore for the second and final time of the regular season. The Ravens head into this matchup with their bitter division rivals with a 9-2 record and a tight grip on the division lead in the AFC North. With a win over the Steelers in Baltimore, the Ravens will basically wrap up the division title and punch their ticket to the playoffs. Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, Roethlisberger has been ruled out for a third straight game. As a result of Roethlisberger being ruled out yet again, the Steelers will go with 37-year-old backup Charlie Batch as their starting quarterback. Batch was awful in his first start of the season in Week 12 throwing three interceptions in the loss to the Browns. Although Byron Leftwich is without a doubt the better option under center, the veteran quarterback won’t be ready to get back on the field this weekend suffering similar injuries in comparison to Roethlisberger. With Batch under center in Week 13, the Steelers will almost certainly be headed for a third straight loss and will fall to a 6-6 on the season as a result. The loss won’t knock them out of playoff contention with four more games yet to be played before the beginning of the postseason, but it definitely doesn’t help their chances moving forward with all the competition within the conference competing for AFC Wildcard spots. At this point in time, the Ravens are heavily favored to pull out the win over their bitter rivals on Sunday at M&T Stadium with a -10 point spread. The spread is a little too high in my opinion with Pittsburgh making a much closer game.

Prediction: Steelers +10
