Green Bay Packers (-6) @ St. Louis Rams (+6) Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 1 p.m. ET

Before heading into Week 6 to take on the undefeated Houston Texans, the Green Bay Packers appeared to be a doomed football team with a disappointing result to the season ahead. Reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers was struggling, the defense was lackluster once again and the division lead was in the hands of the arch rival Chicago Bears. Needless to say, the Packers were in trouble and in desperate need of a win. Fortunately for Green Bay, that win came against arguably the best team in the AFC Conference as Rodgers and company dominated the Texans with a career-high six touchdowns from the one-time Super Bowl champion. Even though the win over Houston was impressive and proved that Green Bay may have been sleeping through the first five weeks of the season, a lot of work still needs to be done as the Packers must play consistently well from here on out or they may be fighting for the NFC Wildcard rather than an NFC North division title. In Week 7, the Packers will hit the road to take on the St. Louis Rams. With a new head coach in Jeff Fisher and a new attitude on defense, St. Louis has played better than expected in the first few weeks of the season winning three of their six games played thus far. Sitting in fourth place in the NFC West division may not be ideal at the moment, but the Rams have a chance to make some noise if they can stay above .500 with a win over the Packers on Sunday. Clearly, Green Bay has been far from consistent this season and vulnerable to say the least, which is promising for Fisher’s squad heading into this Week 7 showdown. The consensus as of right now is that the Packers are back on track and ready to dominate the league as they did last season flirting with a perfect record. Despite that being the case and no one picking the Rams to come out on top this weekend, the spread is only -6 in favor of Green Bay. The low spread is deceiving as the Packers may very well slip back into mediocrity in Week 7 with a loss or close win over the inferior Rams, but chances are that this team has reclaimed its form from last season and will get an easy win at the expense of St. Louis. Green Bay should get the win with ease, but beware of the upset here with the Packers possibly underestimating the Rams.

Prediction: Packers -6
