Denver Broncos (-4) @ Cincinnati Bengals (+4) Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 1 p.m. ET

The Peyton Manning experiment in the Mile High City is starting to pay dividends with the four-time NFL MVP quarterback living up the high expectations for the Denver Broncos. Although replacing Tim Tebow wasn’t an entirely tough task with Manning’s resume, the future Hall of Famer had a lot of doubts surrounding his return to the gridiron and is beginning to prove all his doubters wrong. Sitting atop the AFC West division with a 4-3 record and coming off a huge come-from-behind victory over the division rival San Diego Chargers, the Broncos control their own fate moving forward with a division title on the horizon and a first trip to the playoffs for Manning in a different uniform. Obviously, anything can happen between now and the end of the regular season with injuries bound to occur, but Denver appears to only be improving every single week. With four straight games with 300+ passing yards and three touchdowns for Manning, the offensive is firing on all cylinders in the Mile High City. Coming into Week 9, the Broncos will hit the road fresh off their bye week and will take on the up-and-coming Cincinnati Bengals led by second-year quarterback Andy Dalton and wide receiver A.J. Green. This potent quarterback-receiver combo has proven that their rookie season was no fluke as they’ve connected for 44 receptions. With Green lighting up the scoreboards on a weekly basis with seven touchdowns on 636 yards, this lethal combination may ultimately turn out to be one of the best in the league for years to come. Unfortunately for the Bengals, Cincinnati has not been kind to them this season with two of their four losses coming at home. Both of these losses at Paul Brown Stadium came in the last three weeks to the Miami Dolphins (17-13) in Week 5 and against the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers (24-17) in Week 7. Along with the two home losses, the Bengals have lost three straight with the second consecutive loss against the division rival Cleveland Browns (34-24) before falling to the Steelers in Week 7. Needless to say, Cincinnati is in desperate need of a win in Week 9 to get back on track and in the hunt for a playoff spot in the AFC. At this point in time, the Broncos are favored to get the win on the road with a -4 point spread. Although Cincinnati is desperate to say the least, I believe Manning leads Denver to their fifth win of the season while covering the spread.

Prediction: Broncos -4
