Arizona Cardinals (+10) @ Green Bay Packers (-10) Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 1 p.m. ET

After an impressive and equally unexpected 4-0 record to start the 2012 NFL season, the Arizona Cardinals were without a doubt the surprise team in the NFC. With quarterback Kevin Kolb not exactly living up to expectations and a lot more talent needed to be added to both sides of the football before becoming a legitimate force in the conference, no one expected much of the Cardinals. Unfortunately, the start of the season may has turned out to be the fluke that everyone believed it was with Arizona losing four straight games after winning the first four. Despite the current losing streak, the Cardinals still have an opportunity to compete for a playoff spot in the NFC if they can stop the bleeding as soon as possible. After facing two of the best teams in the NFC (Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers) in consecutive weeks, the competition won’t get any easier in Week 9 as Larry Fitzgerald and company head up to Lambeau Field to face the resurgent Green Bay Packers. As if this week’s matchup wasn’t enough to challenge the Cardinals resiliency, Arizona will go on the road once again next week to face off against arguably the best team in the league in the Atlanta Falcons. Obviously, beating both the Packers and Falcons in consecutive weeks is a daunting task to say the least coming off four straight losses, but that is the path Arizona must take to get back on track before the season gets out of hand and the team falls below .500. As for the Packers, Aaron Rodgers and company will come into this matchup on a three-game winning streak and seemingly back to form as one of the best teams in the NFC. With the Chicago Bears leading the way in the NFC North division, Green Bay must continue to put pressure on their arch division rivals in order to contend for the title. Otherwise, the Packers will be forced to compete for the NFC Wildcard with a lot of very good teams in the NFC this season. At this point in time, the Packers are heavily favored to get a fourth straight win with a -10 point spread. Although the spread is higher than I’d like, it is still very likely that Mike McCarthy’s squad will cover by taking advantage of a struggling Cardinals team that may have lost their way after a hot start to the season.

Prediction: Packers -10
