Super Bowl XLVII: San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 6:30 p.m. ET

After two weeks of constant media coverage and speculation, the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens will finally go face-to-face at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday. These two teams have been circulating around one another for two weeks with superstar linebacker Ray Lewis at the center of attention for the Ravens and second-year quarterback Colin Kaepernick taking the bulk of the media attention for the 49ers. Both players will be showcased on the biggest stage in the NFL on Sunday with the outcome uncertain. Kaepernick will be leading the way from an extremely talented 49ers squad stacked on both sides of the football while Lewis will attempt to win one final game in his career with the Ravens heading into retirement as a two-time Super Bowl champion. Even though Baltimore has been able to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 2000, the Ravens road to the big game was arguably the tougher of the two teams facing off on Sunday. The Ravens had to square off against the up-and-coming Indianapolis Colts right out of the gate and then against the number one seed Denver Broncos in the Mile High City. After pulling off a huge upset against the Broncos, the Ravens headed to Gillette Stadium to take on the New England Patriots. Baltimore was once again a long shot to come out with the win over Tom Brady and company, but played exceptionally well against the Patriots on their home field and ultimately advanced to the Super Bowl. At this point in time, the 49ers are the favorites to win the Super Bowl for the sixth time in franchise history with -4 point spread. Although obviously the better all-around football team coming into this matchup, the Ravens are riding on pure emotion and have been underestimated throughout the entire playoffs thus far. Taking the 49ers is a wise decision, but the game could go in either direction depending on the motivation of the Ravens on Super Bowl Sunday.

Prediction: 49ers -4
